Psychotherapy

What I Offer

I work with adults, couples, and families. I am committed to providing a welcoming space for all humans regardless of race, religion, gender and sexual preferences/orientations. I am trained and competent to work with the following issues: anxiety, addiction/recovery, ADHD, bipolar, depression, emotional crises, life transition, childhood and adult trauma, grief and loss, divorce, relationship issues, blended families, parenting, learning differences. I see clients both in my office or via telehealth using the Zoom platform.

We start from a place of compassionate curiosity, and develop a relationship based on trust in which I listen and ask questions to allow you to find some answers, and more clarity with neither judgment nor overprotection. I serve as a helping hand, a guide and I offer a safe place for you to explore the choices and decisions you have made about yourself, and your capabilities, what you believe is possible. We work together to consider possibilities and perspectives some of which may not have been considered or seem possible right now. I work to act as a resource for you to help you get a good start, know what makes sense for you, and connect with your inner strengths. I believe all of us are capable of having meaningful relationships and creating the life we want and of course that includes you.

I have a holistic understanding of the interactions between the mind, body, emotions, spirit and relationships. I primarily use a mindfulness-based, relational approach, as well as Internal Family Systems combined with other various approaches based on your needs to inform our work together. My work is evidence-based and supported by current research. I am dedicated to maintaining professional excellence and I enjoy continuing to learn and add to my training. I consistently exceed the amount of education hours required for me to maintain my license.

What to Expect

Taking the first step in any endeavor can be difficult. By taking the time to view my website and others you have already done that. Good for you. Even more daunting can be the act of reaching out, accepting support in this way.

To set up an appointment or make an inquiry you may leave me a message on my voicemail. I generally return calls within a day or two during the week. It takes longer on weekends. The same applies to email messages, understand email confidentiality cannot be guaranteed so please do not leave sensitive details. We can discuss these by phone. I do have intake forms that will need to be completed prior to our first meeting. These usually take 15 minutes to complete. You may print, complete and email them to me if we are meeting via Zoom or bring them to your first appointment. I can make them available to you to complete in the waiting room, please arrive early to allow time for this step.

Our first meeting will likely last between 45 and 50 minutes. I will explain thoroughly how therapy with me works, answer any questions you may have, and go over the forms you completed. You may share some of why you are seeking therapy and we will discuss what you would like to achieve in your therapy. Finally, we will decide whether we are a good fit, and if not I will provide you with other resources and/or referrals that will better meet your needs. Either way you will not leave empty handed. I look forward to hearing from you.

Scheduling and Location I am available for appointments Monday through Thursday. Pine River Psychotherapy Associates is located on 1145 Sheridan Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30324. You may call 770-595-4510 or contact me by email, hannah@hhe-therapy.com. Please do not include personally sensitive material in emails as privacy is not guaranteed.

Fee My fee for a 45 minute appointment is $225.00. Couples, families or individuals may schedule an extended session. I do offer a few spaces on a sliding scale for a limited amount of time. It’s OK to ask and we can discuss your financial needs at your first appointment. Please expect to pay the full amount for your initial appointment.

Insurance A word about insurance. I do not maintain contractual agreements with insurance companies and so I am not an “in network” provider and do not bill insurance companies directly. However, your health insurance may also include out-of-network benefits. I am happy to provide you with an appropriate receipt/invoice you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
